ILO MIGRATION PROJECT

Narrative description of Project: The International Labour Organization (ILO) Country Office for Bangladesh, supported by Government of Switzerland is implementing the project titled ‘Application of Migration Policy for Decent Work for Migrant Workers’ (the Migration Project). The intervention aims to strengthen policy and institutional frameworks to improve the national migration management practices, ensure safe migration and social protection of migrants; including protection of their rights in the respective countries of destination and upon their repatriation home. They provided technical support to BAIRA, for improving recruitment services in the country in view of the critical role recruiting agents play in implementation of the laws, policies and rules of the government concerning ethical and fair recruitment.

DescriptionUnder this project, Visual Communication Ltd (VISCOM) closely worked with International Labour Organization (ILO) to develop communication tools, products and a guidelines for visibility and knowledge management such as organize three roundtable, Prepare 4 policy briefs, and Prepare 08 info graphics with the assessments of I ‘Social and undertake a series of one day trainings to cover 100 recruiting agencies and a 3 day residential Training of Trainers for representatives of BAIRA, government, NGOs, CSOs, trade unions an employers’ organizations. The lead consult for the assignment was Mr. Asif Munier, Migration Specialist – as recommended by ILO Migration project.
